I am currently a marathon runner and a National Academy of Sports Medicine (NASM) certified personal trainer. My interest in health and fitness began eight years ago when after years of being obese I decided to make the change to a healthy lifestyle. I lost 60 pounds in five months and have kept the weight off since then. I am a current student in the Physical Therapist Assistant program at SUNY Broome and am excited to join the team at Chenago fitness providing services designed to assist individuals in lifestyle changes that will positively affect their health and wellbeing. The NASM Optimal Performance Training (OPT) model simultaneously improves flexibility, core stabilization, balance, strength, power, and cardiorespiratory endurance. By incorporating multiple types of training into every program, the OPT method improves all biomotor abilities and builds high levels of functional strength, neuromuscular efficiency, and dynamic flexibility.

I have certificates in Balanced Body Mat 1 + 2 along with Reformer 1. I have been teaching group fitness classes since leg warmers were in style! I specialize in Pilates ,since I believe it is a form of exercise that everyone can do at any age and with no prior fitness experience ! I am certified through AFAA as a Group Exercise instructor and I am also a Certified Personal Trainer. One of my most motivating and inspiring experiences was to work with Pilates Elder, Mary Bowen.

When I am not teaching Pilates, I am an assistant teacher for a Head Start Program. My sport is Marathon Canoe Racing. I have two grown children and a grand daughter who already knows that I love exercise and paddling my canoe!
In 2010, I was an overweight guy who decided to change his lifestyle drastically by choosing fitness. Today, I am certified as a Personal Trainer through the International Sports Sciences Association (ISSA).

Currently, I train for Olympic Weightlifting Style Competitions and I hope to train competitively for CrossFit in the near future. Over the years, I have had experience with many styles of fitness, including long-distance running, Powerlifting, Olympic Weightlifting, CrossFit, and general fitness techniques. 

I love every element of the fit lifestyle, and I hope to share my passion for health and fitness with others in any way that I can. 

My goal as a Personal Trainer is to help people identify and reach their own personal goals for fitness. I will strive to help you implement consistent, healthy lifestyle choices to help you reach your own goals!

I am excited to be able to be part of the Chenango Fitness team because it is where my fit lifestyle first began. 

I graduated from Chenango Valley High School in 2010. There, I played on both the golf and baseball teams. 
I earned a Bachelor's Degree in Communications at SUNY Cortland (2015) and an Associate’s Degree in Communications from SUNY Broome (2012). I am also a certified NYS EMT-B (2016).

When I am not in the gym helping others (or training myself), you will find me on my mountain bike or at the golf course. I also play in local slow-pitch softball and flag football leagues, as well as working part-time as a Sports Department Clerk/Photographer for the local newspaper, the Press & Sun Bulletin.
